Opportunities and Phases

Up and out early this morning, successfully I might add!

Tis not always the case. Yesterday, for example, it was necessary that I intervene in the chaos of  four children getting ready to go out so that it could happen happily and smoothly. No matter how *unschooly* we are and how relaxed we are about such things as hair, clothes, shoes (despite the occasion or weather) or whether they have eaten breakfast or not, still with 6 members in the family, different personalities, dynamics, needs and of course other external influencing factors such as time, we have to have some boundaries and guidelines in place. Mostly we have to learn how to work together as a team more often. It can at times be difficult.

Back to today. CineSchool 2013 afforded us another free visit to the cinema but this time at the Vue, Gunwharf. We met our friends there and enjoyed The Cat In Paris in a pretty much empty cinema! A Belgian animated film and I agree with Twinbo 1 that the characters looked kind of *Picasso*.

Twin Dad managed some undisturbed work then picked us up and whisked us back home for lunch and with the sky showing signs of the best kind of colour we decided to take in some fresh air and bike riding. We are so lucky to be able to step out of our front door onto this, particularly, as right now we do not have a garden!

Important to embrace the opportunities and phases we are in.

The days are feeling longer and less rushed. Twin Dad is fitting more uninterrupted work time in and we've also managed 1:1 sessions on Conquer Maths plus we've painted our terracotta clay wall pieces.

The small girls are back out on their bikes with Twin Dad, Twinbo 1 is the in the bath, Twinbo 2 is on Minecraft and I'm here blogging whilst I should be clearing the dinner plates.

Again, important to embrace the opportunities and phases we are in.

Merlin later.

  1. Cupcake went to see A Cat in Paris with her dad and loved it too. I keep meaning to check it out - thanks for the reminder about it.

Oh yes, your wall pieces are also looking good - we've just cast some plaster moulds of dinosaur and Ancint Egyptian stuff but I'm itching to get around to some free form clay creation after seeing yours - lovely and colourful.
